I see the word “bokeh” on Pinterest a lot. Since I’m the curious type, I looked it up on Wikipedia and found out that in photography, bokeh is the blur or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image, or “the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light.” Now that I know what it is, I realise that I absolutely love the aesthetic of bokeh, which is why my eye was drawn to these images in the first place!

Yes, I love this style of photography and I’m going to learn how to get this effect! It will probably take patience and a lot of practice.

I found the ferris wheel on Pinterest when I searched bokeh. You can see all types of ferris wheels at http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/ferris-wheel.
The lanterns are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/jesc/3699987806 – the photo was taken in Maine, July 2009.
