It’s hard to believe that 2012 is coming to an end. I’m not one to make New Year’s resolutions but I hope to make more time for the things that count next year. Visiting friends. Time for a vacation – away from Toronto this time! The purchase of an excellent DSLR camera and a photography course. I’d like to post some original content on this blog. I have to stop saying “I’ll do it tomorrow” and just do it already! AND… throw a party next year! I’m so inspired by this fabulous “bubbly bar”. More of these party photos at 100 Layer Cake.

That’s the name of Tim Flatch’s new book. Stunning portraits of animals captured with a tenderness that only a true animal lover and extraordinary photographer can do.

Call me crazy but I want it to snow! I’ve been scouring Pinterest in an effort to get some gift wrapping ideas but I get distracted by the lovely wintery photos and Christmas decorations. Here is a small collection of my favorites. I hope it gets you in the spirit of the season!

Vintage style and rustic interiors are catching my eye lately, so I thought I’d share the work of New York based photographer Seth Smoot. I love the unexpected objects in his photos and the stories they quietly tell. For a visual pick-me up visit his site.

Hang art like a pro

art, hang art like a pro, photography

I love it when art is displayed in a creative fashion. The focus is the artwork of course, but it’s also how the art is displayed that really matters!

Are you a budding photographer? Wouldn’t you love to show off your work and have the flexibility to update your pictures? Using a clip system against a dramatic charcoal wall allows you to display your master pieces and change them as you improve! via

If you like shabby chic or country French style, why not hang antique style art onto a salvaged old door for extra impact! via

Hanging art symmetrically with white frames and matting always looks crisp and professional. via

Hang a plant in a funky pot from a knob on the wall. Instant art on a budget! via

Don’t forget the bathroom. Hang over-sized art in a casual arrangement so you can enjoy the view. You’re sitting down anyway (most of you – ha), might as well have something to look at! via

I think this is the perfect quote to go with these very strong photos from 500px. Photography is the beauty of life, captured. – Tara Chisholm.

I could get lost for hours on end on this website which boasts to be the world’s best photography community.

Summer weekends

My ideal camper looks like this one. If I could, I would sit outside this weekend with all my camping friends and enjoy the summer weather! A game of cards and some refreshing drinks? Does it get any better than this?

This is what I do all day when I’m not pinning. 😉

My thoughts on the blog

arts, blogging, DIY, illustration, Irene Z, photography

When I first started this blog, it was my intention to share photos of interior decor. As the blog evolved I discovered that I have many different passions but they all stem from one thing – excellent photography.

So, I hope to share some diverse photos in the future, some recipes, a bit of fashion, a lot of luxe and some DIY projects. I will get a camera and share some of my own photos and stories to personalize this blog. I feel like I am growing and changing everyday and I hope you will continue to visit for some inspiration, a few words of wisdom or to view some whimsical images.
