Home & Delicious interviewed Emma for this first issue, so if you are interested you can read it on page 180-181. The magazine takes you away to view some beautiful Icelandic homes. The photography is spectacular and the styling is amazing. This magazine is packed full of home decor inspiration, DIY projects and delightful recipes. Check it out here! The sneak peek is below.
I love many different interior decor styles – modern glam being my favourite. Still they say “less is more” and I can’t help but feel that way about Scandinavian design. Highly functional, the style is effective without needing heavy elements. The colour palette often starts with white due to the long winters and few hours of sunlight. The design aesthetic is bright and uncluttered with natural wood flooring and furniture and black accessories.
This home with industrial touches belongs to Jakob Nylund. His home reflects modern Scandinavian style – it prioritizes functionality without sacrificing elegance and simplicity. The sight lines are amazing. Jakob is also a very talented photographer.

I’m feeling blue today. It’s in a good way. Blue, a very popular colour can represent happiness and optimism as days with clearer, blue skies tend to be considered better times. It’s soothing and serene. Beautiful blue.

Whether you love IKEA or not, you must check out their LIVET HEMMA blog. Livet Hemma is Swedish and it translates to LIFE AT HOME. The blog LIVET HEMMA is written in Swedish, but you can google translate it into almost any language
I like to mix inexpensive IKEA items with my other modern and traditional furniture because I love the simple lines of some of their designs. Like the EXPEDIT book case. I own it in black/brown and I’m always changing up the accessories. Their pillows, vases, lighting and baskets are so affordable and they can be combined with any style of decor.
What I love about this blog is that it gives me ideas and inspiration on how to spruce up my own space on a budget! Why didn’t I think of using an IKEA mirror as a perfume display? Don’t know, but now it’s an idea that just might come to fruition!
Think outside the greenhouse. What a great idea for displaying teas.
Modern chic. Crisp whites.
Rustic and charming. Chocolat.
Mixing modern, industrial and traditional with some quirky accessories for fun!
