I’m a city girl at heart but I yearn for a cabin on the lake, nestled in the trees, like this one here. To be at one with nature and to savour the sound of birds chirping at dawn. I could live here, if just for a short while.
Not merely an absence of noise, Real Silence begins when a reasonable being withdraws from the noise in order to find peace and order in his inner sanctuary. ~ Peter Minard

My ideal camper looks like this one. If I could, I would sit outside this weekend with all my camping friends and enjoy the summer weather! A game of cards and some refreshing drinks? Does it get any better than this?

I sincerely hope this is the last day of the horrible heat wave we’ve had in T.O. The temperatures have been around 35 degrees Celcius, with a high humidex (making it feel like 40 degrees). Yikes!
That being said, summer is the time to create memories with friends and family. These DIY popsicle invitations via Martha Stewart are the perfect invite for a birthday party or backyard BBQ! Click here for the clip art and how-to!
I would love to have a huge lofty living room with white walls so I could switch up my decor for summer. I would hang this brightly-hued acrylic painting by artist Nina Nolte.
This season the accessories are big, bold and bright! If I can’t keep cool, at least I can look it!
I really, really want a pink lounge chair and umbrella for the beach. Welcome summer!
Last week I didn’t post much because I decided to take a local vacation in my hometown Toronto – and surrounding areas.
First stop – a visit to my parents who live in scenic Bobcaygeon, Ontario
The opposite of Kensington Market is Yorkville. Toronto’s most celebrated neighbourhood of style and culture, it has the most exquisite boutiques and restaurants.
We had to try Yogurty’s the new self-serve froyo place in T.O.
We filled up our cups with flavoured yogurt and added as many toppings as possible! Delicious!
It finally feels like summer is here. Time to have fun in the sun!
take a whimsical tote like this one to the beach with you, summer meadows filled with wildflowers are my favourite, a perfect picnic on the beach, fresh lemonade is a great way to cool off on those hazy days, cycling in the early evening – what a fabulous way to end the day!
I am headed to Bobcaygeon Ontario this weekend for some country fun! Most people relax and unwind up north, but I am a city girl and I always manage to find an excuse to shop at Bigley Shoes & Clothing. Bigley’s features one of the largest selections of shoes (over 40,000 pairs)! Holla!
And what sane person would go to the Kawartha lake area and not have a big hunkering waffle cone at the famous Kawartha Dairy? The line ups are worth the wait – and yes, tourists take these types of photos.
I think this beautiful photograph and the quote posted by The Terrible Artist are perfect for today – Valentine’s Day and every day after! Shouldn’t we all treat each other this way each day, no matter what? Yes, we should.
Have a great day today, whatever you do!

It’s January and I have the blahs, so, I’m going to dream that my suitcase is packed and I’m ready to embark on a voyage to Paris to rent a quaint apartment, visit the cafés, the Eiffel Tower and all the gorgeous shops! I’d drink wine, try all sorts of pastries and visit every fabulous place this famous city has to offer.
