Being thrifty can also be stylish! Ki Nassauer, edit and chief of Flea Market Style magazine, has made a career reinventing curbside castoffs and flea market finds into stylish and clever decorative items! Vintage suitcases as shelves… what a neat idea.
This magnet board was a former metal table top. Beth Schaleben, who shares the details about this project on her blog Show & Tell, popped a piece of weathered lumber into it, hammered in some railroad nails and voilà! A vintage magnet board!
And then there is Megan, author of the blog Brassy Apple. Check out these beautiful pillows. She made them from thrifted, old sweaters. For the DIY details click here.
I love thrifty style. I would love to have the front end of an old car on the wall. Nice post.
I agree! I’d love to have vintage bar with the tail end of a cadillac on the wall. I’d serve pink drinks with umbrellas!
Sounds like a cool setup! I would love an old 1951 Studebaker Commander front end!!! 🙂
Here is a link, http://tippe.com/, to a restaurant I once got to dine at that was lived in by the Studebaker family.
What a gorgeous restaurant!
Love the suitcase shelves. Great finds!

I ride my bike to work – to get exercise but also to be eco friendly. And I thrift, re-use and repurpose things. I should blog about my thrifts! On my to do list.
I love repurposing old items. There are great ideas out there for that. Thanks for bringing some to our attention! I love thrift shops for vintage items too.
Thanks, too, for visiting my blog. It’s nice to meet you. I like your blog!
Thanks Judy! I also love repurposing old items.
